UoP to begin online admissions

PESHAWAR: The University of Peshawar is establishing campus management solution system to facilitate online submission of applications for admission in different faculties during the current academic year.

Talking to media persons here on Saturday, Pro-Vice Chancellor Dr Mohammad Abid said students would get login (username and password) to get access to their academic record, including grading.

He said parents and guardians would also be facilitated to check their children’s academic activities through the online system. He said the new system was being installed with the financial assistance of Higher Education Commission.


Mr Abid said the university would continue its leading role and would focus more on research. He said internees of the prime minister internship programme would also be given some work to make them skilled individuals.

Regarding problems of the teaching staff, Mr Abid said 45 teachers were working under tenure track system. He said appointment of 19 teachers had been forwarded to HEC that would be notified soon, while the university was paying to the remaining staff from its own resources.

Replying to a question, he said the university was likely to get permanent VC by the end of current month as several names for the post were under consideration.
