TIMERGARA: Qaumi Watan Party lawmaker Bakht Baidar Khan on Monday inaugurated work on the Ishaq Shaheed Girls Degree College in Gulabad here.
Speaking at the function, he said the college building would cost Rs250 million. He said 35 kanals of land had been purchased for construction of the first girls’ degree college in the area.
The MPA said the building would consist of academic block, cafeteria, students’ hostel and administration block.
He alleged that the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf chief Imran Khan had failed to prove any corruption charge against him in the court, adding he had pardoned the PTI chief after a jirga led by KP Assembly Speaker Asad Qaisar visited his home.
The QWP leader said he was dismissed as minister on charges of corruption by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister on the directives of Imran Khan, but the cricketer-turned-politician failed to produce any proof against him in the court during last three years.
The lawmaker said he wanted to serve his people by creating job opportunity for them. He said he had got approval of the Sanam Dam construction that would cost Rs1 billion. He said some people had been creating hurdles to fail the project but his party would not allow anyone to sabotage it.
WORKSHOP: The Pakistan agricultural research council and extension wing of agriculture department on Monday arranged a daylong training workshop for farmers of Lower dir, Swat and Buner at the farm services centre here.
The project director Abid Kamal, director agriculture Murad Ali, seeds specialist Dr Ishaq and others spoke on the occasion.
The farmers were informed about collecting quality wheat seed and its preservation and storage. Several techniques were displayed on multimedia before the farmers. The speakers said the farmers’ capacity building in identification of quality seed, getting more produce and adapting modern methods of farming was need of the hour.
