Renowned Scientist, Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan Monday distributed course completion certificates among 168 rural women of Rawalpindi, who have been trained in different skills and trades during the past three months.
The certificate distribution ceremony was organized by SACHET Pakistan on completion of its training course designed for rural women.
The women were provided training under a project of Punjab Skill Development Fund in collaboration with Society for the Advancement of Community, Health, Education and Training (SACHET) Pakistan.
Dr. A.Q. Khan, President SACHET-Pakistan was the chief guest at the ceremony.
Members Board of Directors, SACHET, Syed Zeeshan Ali Naqvi, Deputy Mayor, Islamabad, Chairmen of Union Councils Sihala, Chairman District Zakat Committee and senior management of SACHET and Harmony Technologies participated in the ceremony.
Earlier, the chief guest also inaugurated the Exhibition of articles produced by the trainees during their course work.
Out of these 168 women who were provided three months training, 28 trainees underwent training in Fabric Quality Inspection, 28 in Textile Sales and Marketing, 56 in Fabric Cutting Expert and 56 in Domestic Tailoring.
It is pertinent to mention here besides executing a range of skill development training programs in diverse fields, the Punjab government through this women development programme intends to train as many as 2,000 women in different skills.
This female-focused training is being imparted with an aim to assist domestic women to earn livelihood in a respectable manner. The women trainees are also given free books, uniform and bags in addition to the monthly stipend of Rs1500 per month.
