PESHAWAR: The Beaconhouse School System, Frontier Campus for Girls in Hayatabad, on Thursday organized a bilingual drama festival to promote creative skills of students and familiarize them with their culture, traditions and values.
The spring festival was organized at the end of the academic session in the school to get its students engaged in co-curriculum activities.Dr Fatima Shaheen, wife of Inspector General Frontier Corps (FC), was the chief guest on the occasion.
A number of students, parents and faculty of the school attended the festival. The students had set up stalls, including food stalls, game spots, kite flying, and other fun activities.The students on the occasion presented their skills and earned the appreciation of the audience.
The most important part of the festival was the two plays -Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet and Deputy Nazir Ahmad’s Miratul Uroos - staged by the students. The 120-year old classical drama “Miratul Uroos” by Deputy Nazir Ahmad was staged by students for first time.
Marjan Khattak, Hina Afridi, Inaya Najam, Khoshbakht Shah, Sadaf Afridi, Horiya Sultan, Zarina Ayub and other students participated in thedramas.The Oral Communication Club under the supervision of Mrs. Mehr Raza and Mrs. Lalarukh Asim actively took part in the festival.
Talking to the media, Headmistress of the school, Farah Naz said these activities provide the students with a break from their tough studies and help them in academic learning and personality growth.
