Vacant posts will be advertised to ensure merit

KARACHI: Sindh Education and Literacy Minister Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar said that the advertisements regarding appointments on vacant posts will be published soon in leading newspapers.

He said that the services of reputed testing agency are being sought through the expression of interest given in the newspapers to keep the whole process transparent.


The minister expressed these views while presiding over a meeting in his office on Tuesday, said a statement.

Education Colleges Secretary Pervaiz Ahmed Seehar and Education Schools Secretary Aziz Uqaili also attended the meeting.

He said that as soon as the name of the testing agency was finalised, the process of appointments would be started.

The minister asked the schools secretary to release the salaries of the teaching and non-teaching staff whose salaries had been blocked on minor issues in a week.

The schools secretary informed the minister that almost 80 per cent work is completed in this regard and the salaries would be released as per the directives of the minister.

However, the minister strictly forbade releasing the salaries of the ghost or absconder teachers.

He added, “All ongoing development schemes in the education department, especially the construction of washrooms, erection of boundary walls and minor repair in schools, must be completed before June 30”.

He said that when the students return after summer vacations, they should feel comfortable at schools.
