The authority would also keep an eye on the schools, analyzing their performance in all aspects. The provincial education minister announced this at the Mardan Press Club after taking oath and joining the new cabinet.

President of the Press Club M Bashir Adil and senior journalist Musarat Khan Aasi were present on the occasion. Other notable guests at the event included Chairman District Development Advisory committee MPA Iftikhar Ali Mashwani, Commissioner Mardan Division Zakir Hussain Afridi, Assistant commissioner Khan Muhammad, SP Investigation Shafiullah Khan Gandapur, and President Traders Union Zahir Shah.

Originally this plan of establishing a private school regulatory authority was formulated by the previous government, but it was never put forward in the provincial assembly until a few months ago.

Senior academics, government officials, school owners and parents’ representatives would be included in the new authority. Mr. Atif himself would be the chairman.

Every Child Gets Access to Education
He added that the KP government’s education policy will ensure that every child has access to basic education in the province, and that all available resources are being utilized for this purpose.
