Fatima Jinnah Women University Rules / Regulations for Convocation 2016 Registration
  • Registration process for the convocation 2016 will start from February 02, 2017and will end on February 20, 2017. (No induction and changes will be made in the provided data after February 20, 2017 as the data will be forwarded to the security committee accordingly.)
  • Registration fee (without fine) will be submitted via bank challan form February 21, 2017 to February 22, 2017 on the payment of fine Rs. 200/= per day (days exclusive).
  • Late comers will be entertained afterwards.
No exception at all.
  • The breakup of Convocation Registration Charges for the year of 2016 are as follow;
Registration breakup for Masters & Bachelors’ Students for the Year of 2016.

Breakup of charges is as follow:
Gown Rent: Rs. 400/-
Registration Charges Rs.1600/-

Total Rs. 2000/-
Registration breakup for laggard Masters & Bachelors’ Students (who did not pay their degree charges) for the Year of 2016
Breakup of charges (for laggard students who did not pay degree charges earlier) is as follow:
Degree Charges Rs. 1500/-
Gown Rent: Rs. 400/-
Registration Charges Rs.1600/-
Total Rs. 3500/-
No additional guest is allowed for upcoming Convocation 2016 and details regarding guests of graduates are as follow;

  • Registration Breakup for PhD/M. Phil Students for the year of 2016 is as follow:

Guest details for PhD/M. Phil students
One guest Free of charge

Rules / Regulations for PhD/ M. Phil students will be same as those for others graduating students.
  • There will be no changes in the guest list as well as addition of the guest, once the registration process is closed.
  • Students have to complete all degree requirements before registration.
  • All departments will be responsible for providing the information regarding the dates of registration process.
  • All departments will be responsible for providing the copy of Do and Don’ts of Registration for Convocation to all students. Copy of receiving by the students should be provided to Registration Committee.
  • Convocation registration is not mandatory for all students if they are not attending convocation.
  • Data of registered students (both in soft & hard copy) according to the format should be provided to the registration committee by February 23. 2017.
  • Data of gold/silver medal students should be provided separately according to the format.
  • Brothers of the students (as guest) will be allowed only under extra ordinary circumstances after the due approval of competent authorities.
  • Permission may also be granted to upload the information regarding the registration due dates on FJWU websites
  • NO exception will be entertained in any case.

PU VC inaugurates examination halls at IAS

LAHORE: (Thursday, February 2, 2017): Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Zafar Mueen Nasir has inaugurated newly-built examination hall at Institute of Administrative Sciences (IAS). All set to establish NUST campus in Sialkot

The Federal Government of Pakistan has released the needed primary funds to establish a dedicated campus of the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) in Sialkot, said the Federal Minister on Tuesday.

While talking to the media sources in Islamabad, the Federal Minister for Defence, Water and Power, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, said that a special grant of worth PKR 180 million was released as the first installment in order to establish the campus of NUST in Sambrial, Sialkot.

Universities directed to adopt Urdu as official language

The universities of the province have been asked to use Urdu as the official language along with the instant effect and provide all communications in it, news sources reported on Tuesday.

A notification issued by the Punjab Services as well as General Administration Department instructed all university managements to take instant short-term measures to fulfill the orders.

1st Internet Exchange Point in Pakistan Inaugurated at HEC Islamabad

Pakistan's first Internet Exchange Point (PKIX) has been inaugurated at Higher Education Commission (HEC) Islamabad, under the headship of Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and support of HEC as well as Internet Service Providers (ISPs).

Ms. Anusha Rehman, State Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication was the chief guest in the inauguration ceremony held at Commission's Secretariat here on Friday. 'Taleem-e- Baalghan' Programme To Be Launched For Prisoners

Minister for Literacy and Non-Formal Basic Education Punjab Dr Farrukh Javed said on Thursday the government had initiated many programmes for welfare of prisoners. The Punjab Literacy Department would launch "Taleem-e-Baalghan" programme for prisoners all over the province, the minister expressed these views in the departmental meeting regarding Punjab Non Formal Education Project for prisoners.

FURC holds orientation ceremony for new students

Foundation University Rawalpindi Campus (FURC) has organized its Orientation Ceremony on Thursday, which was attended by all new students and their parents. Brig. Prof. Dr. Akhtar Nawaz Malik (Retd), Director Foundation University Rawalpindi Campus was the chief guest. Brig. Shahid Jagir (Retd), Administrator FURC and Prof. Dr. Nasim Akhtar Raja, Dean Arts & Social Sciences, FURC were also present on the occasion. The ceremony was held to welcome newcomers and enlighten them about rules and regulations of the Foundation University.

AIOU Launches M.Phil Degree For Accredited Journalists

Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has launched special M.Phil (Professional track) degree programme for the accredited journalists from the current semester. Admission for programme has been opened and the practicing journalists, holding master-degree in Mass-Communication/Journalism could apply for the admission till March 6, said an announcement of the University's Admission Department, a news release said Thursday.

The M. Phil degree for the journalists' community has been introduced on the personal initiative of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shahid Siddiqui who wished to facilitate the journalists in enhancing their academic qualification and professional skill, the announcement added. As per plan, already approved by the University's Academic Council, senior media practitioners will be invited to share their knowledge and skills with their fellow colleagues as visiting resource persons.

Besides this,the University's Department of Mass Communication has developed short-term courses in various media disciplines that will also be introduced soon. The AIOU, being media-based institution providing education to the people through distance-learning is keen to serve the journalist's community by meeting their professional requirements. AIOU has provided bachelor, Master, M. Phil and PhD level education in journalism to a large number of youth since 1987, who are now working in various media houses in senior positions.

The working journalists get preference in the admission in merit-based Master degree-level programme. The University has also already introduced two-year degree program in TV production. Dr. Shahid Siddiqui attached high importance to media, which has now emerged as most strong social institution to service the society through education. AIOU is also actively engaged in disseminating research-based knowledge to the public and the end users through the support the journalist community.
