The Value of Scientific Education

In the ancient times education meant literacy education only. Grammar philosophy and literature comprised the syllabus teaching of astronomy and medicine was neither scientific nor comprehensive.

Now teaching of science has become very important. 

Science teaches us to see things as they are. It lay stress not on form but on facts. Science has also taught us to win control over the forces of nature and turn them to our use. Epidemics have been controlled through the beneficent forces of science. Above all, sciences have given us a new outlook on life. 

Science has a great achievement of science in the field of peace. Scientific education does not mean knowledge of scientific inventions. That is only a part of it. 

Its real purpose is to create a scientific attitude in students. We look at things through the prism of our feelings. This distorts the shape of things. Scientific teaches us how to take a detached view of things. 

In Pakistan we need engineers and technicians to our factories and run our industrial plants. We want doctors and chemists to combat disease. Scientific education gives us a wider outlook of life.
